As a Man Thinketh Workbook Edition

A self-help classic, now in a workbook format

As a Man Thinketh Workbook Edition

This classic self-help book by New Thought writer James Allen was first published in 1902. It has endured the test of time—for millions of readers across the globe, as well as for me personally. I first recieved a copy of this book from my friend Bruce Mabey over thirty years ago. It has had a permanent, life-altering impact on me. I have read this book over and over, learning something new everytime I do!

One of the concepts this book sets on its ear is our natural tendency to blame circumstances for our unhappiness, but Allen boldly declares, "Circumstance does not make the man; it reveals him to himself." How uncomfortably but undeniably true!

Along these lines, here is one my favorite quotes from the book:

In the light of this truth, what, then, is the meaning of 'fighting against circumstances?' It means that a man is continually revolting against an effect without, while all the time he is nourishing and preserving its cause in his heart. That cause may take the form of a conscious vice or an unconscious weakness; but whatever it is, it stubbornly retards the efforts of its possessor, and thus calls aloud for remedy.

Like few self-help books I've ever encountered, As a Man Thinketh Workbook Edition frees you from the persistent tendancy to "fuss and fume" about life's little difficulties, to take on a new realization that we are the primary cause of those difficulties.

Along with new footnotes, this Workbook Edition contains seven thought-provoking questions after each of the seven chapters (49 in all), with room to write your answers right in the book. The book is available to order using your credit card and you have several choices of format to choose from. Please take a look at the options on the left side of the page.
